B2B OS
Long-term operating layer direction.
B2B OS
B2B OS is Arn's long-term ambition, not the current product state.
Target meaning#
A B2B OS is not a replacement for every business system. It is the connective operating layer for work that happens between organizations.
It should help a company answer:
- Which customers, vendors, partners, and service providers are involved?
- What communication, files, contracts, obligations, tasks, and systems are connected to the relationship?
- What changed, who owns the next step, and what is blocked?
- Which source proves each update?
- Which participant can see, change, approve, or sync each part of the record?
Target ownership#
| Layer | Target responsibility |
|---|---|
| Communication | Capture messages, meetings, portal events, forms, and file updates from selected sources |
| Identity | Resolve people, companies, teams, and external organizations into relationship participants |
| Context | Condense scattered communication into current state, risks, decisions, requirements, and next steps |
| Coordination | Assign owners, create workstreams, manage handoffs, and expose shared status |
| Governance | Enforce organization, relationship, role, document, and field-level permissions |
| Sync | Update systems of record with approved changes |
Target operating record#
The long-term operating record should combine:
- relationship identity
- source-backed timeline
- workstreams
- files and contracts
- open asks
- decisions
- commitments
- obligations
- risks and blockers
- internal and external owners
- permission boundaries
- approved system syncs
If Arn says a launch is blocked, a contract obligation is active, or a vendor date changed, the user should be able to inspect the source.
Current status#
The current repository implements the app foundation. It does not yet implement the operating record, relationship graph, connector layer, work coordination layer, or system sync layer.
